Lasers of sufficient power to do real damage require a power source too large to be portable. The military is experiementing with laser weapons but they are still pretty large. Unless we come up with a pretty radical new form of energy, ray guns will still just be in the movies.Why are people still using gun powder based weapons?
At this point to inefficient and not cost effective to use if they exist
Gun powder is reliable and efficient. Laser weaponry is not being used because A. the people that have it dont want anyone else to know. B. The weaponry has not been fine tuned, thus to incorporate such weaponry would be very difficult. I think by now we should have every soldier with a laser rifle, but America just hasnt made that leap yet.
