Baking powder contains baking soda, though it also has other ingredients that are specific to baking which you do not need if all you want to do is remove odors. I mainly mix it with laundry detergent and rub it into carpets before vacuuming. Also works well in ashtrays to reduce ciggy smell. How do you use baking powder to remove strange smells??r=1239673265?
I think we all have used baking soda to keep the fridge smells down, just open the box and it will obsorb odor. BUT the best two uses I have found are to use water to make a paste and use it to scub all things stinky that comes from babies! Thier clothes, diaper pails and soiled toys are all items that can benefit from a good scrub and good rinse. It is a great abrasive and gets that nasty poo or spit up smell out. I normally let it sit for awhile if it was a super nasty stink like the diaper pail. I finally just started sprinkling it in the bottom to help keep the smell down until it was time to be scrubbed. Putting a little dry baking soda in the cat box before the litter is put in helps that stink too. The best thing is its cheap and you don't expose the little ones or pets to nasty chemicals. Hope it helped.
It's baking SODA which deodorizes. I don't know what you might get from baking powder.
It depends on what you want to deodorize as to how you use the baking soda. If it's something like a fridge or a cooler you can set an open box inside it. If it's your shoes, sprinkle baking soda in the shoes. If it's your laundry, add a cup to the wash water. If it's you, add a cup to your bath water ;)
Not baking powder use baking soda.
Pour it onto it and Vac it up. Or if it is something like food then use a wash rag and get it wet, pour the soda onto it and rub it on the item. Good luck.
If that doesn't work then use vinegar on a wash rag and wipe it. Or soak it in it.
Depends on what it is. for shoes say you sprinkle some in. from cleaning you add some water.
