I need something to even out skintone i have clear NON OILY skin what can i use and why?Diffrence between translucent powder, foundation, and pressed powder?
First things first, there is definately a HUGE difference between all 3!
Foundation: It's makeup that comes in different types like liquid, cream, mousse and powder. It evens out your skin tone, decrease shinyness and hides blemishes (sometimes)
Translucent Powder: It ';sets'; the makeup, so it makes the foundation last on longer. It also absorbs the oils on your face.
Pressed Powder: You can also set your foundation with this. It's mostly to control shine though.
**If you want to even out your skintone, maybe you should purchase an alcohol-free toner. It evens out your skin tone. If you have clear skin, i don't think you should use foundation or the powders. It's for people who want to hide imperfections. Just buy a toner to help you gradually even out your skin tone. If you want to hide it quickly, try purchasing a tinted moisturizer. It's like a foundation with moistuzer. It gives your skin some colour (evens out skin tone) while mosturizing your skin.Diffrence between translucent powder, foundation, and pressed powder?
Translucent powder is one that lets you skin tones shine thru, sometimes they are loose and sometimes pressed. A pressed powder is just that- pressed into a cake so it is easier to put in your purse.Foundation is usually a cream or liquid, making it easy to spread on your skin, but it can also seep into pores (that is how it can aggravate acne).
Which you should use depends on how uneven your skin tone is . If very uneven try a foundation midway between the darkest and lightest shades on your face, then see how that works... it may not ,and you will probably have to blend two colors to get it right. If not too uneven, you can get a pressed powder and use a powder brush (not the pad it comes with) to blend it on your skin.
Makeup counters that do ';makeovers'; are good places to experiment- remember you dont have to buy when you do this. If it comes out well, get samples of what they used and match colors at your local discount store.
However, just remember whenever you use makeup- a good cleansing routine is a MUST.
Well foundation is a thick cover up which will even out your skin tone. You can get some that offer a lighter coverage though. Translucent powder would be used over that just to hold it in and make it last through out the day, also helps take away shine. Pressed powder is a little heavier than translucent so I wouldn't use it over a foundation. It can also look cakey. You should do the light coverage foundation and the translucent powder. It will help give you a nice airbrushed look!
